The View from the Front

I admit it: I kind of stole the title for this section from Martha Gellhorn’s book The View From the Ground. I only changed the word “ground” with “front” as people like me are indeed at the front of things – for the entire duration of your visit, dear museum visitor, even if you don’t notice us. So, this is what is it working in a museum, from the point of view of those who work in the museums’ galleries: the Front of House staff. The ones in uniform, who give you directions, help you find your child during the craziness of another Half Term, give you advice on what to see and how to get there, share your happiness, and listen to your frustrations. This is our view. We are the Front of House staff.
